Client: Philips (DAP Division), Drachten, The Netherlands.

Responsibilities:

Managed and executed a project to install & configure Control-M (version 6.1) in AIX, Windows NT and Win 2000 environments. Main bulk of users' batch is running on SAP R/3 platform.

Installed Control-M (6.1.03) on AIX server platform (using standalone Oracle DB) and Control-M Agents across the full distributed environment.
Implementation included a Control-M Gateway to allow viewing of mainframe (z/Series) batch and also SNMP messaging into Tivoli Messaging. Site also used Control-M Option for SAP R/3.
Developed comprehensive recovery plan for the Control-M system (i.e. backup and restore strategy).
Developed batch networks specific to the users' needs - i.e. easily administered batch that allows system administrator to control batch jobs running on a diverse number of systems that are spread over a wide network (including various time zones).
Created documentation for project and implementation; including project overview, system administrator manual, technical user manuals and end user documentation.
Wrote large number of Shell scripts for Unix (and command scripts for NT tasks) as part of the move to Control-M batch administration. Some of these scripts incorporated SQL functions (to perform tasks directly on the Control-M/ECS Databases).
Managed migration of existing batch flows to Control-M and liased with BMC Support Staff. Provided detailed trouble-shooting for Control-M and ECS, sometimes in consultation with BMC's European Helpdesk.

Duration: December 2000 - March 2002

Position:
Project Manager/Senior Systems Engineer

Type: Contract

Client: The Bank for International Settlements, Basel, Switzerland.

Responsibilities:

Managed project to select a Distributed Job Scheduler for Unix, NT and Windows 2000 Server environments.

Created documentation for project and implementation; including project overview, product assessment, comparative analysis, system administrator manual, technical user manuals and end user documentation.
Defined standards for use of Control-M system and implemented strict security standards for various groups of users.
Installed Control-M and ECS Servers on HP-Unix, running under a MC/ServiceGuarded High Availability cluster.
Responsible for installation of Control-M Agents across HP-Unix, Windows NT and Windows 2000 servers.
Wrote large number of Shell scripts for Unix (and command scripts for NT tasks) as part of the move to Control-M batch administration.
Developed comprehensive batch suite for Legato backups and integrated these with various batch suites being defined for other applications.
Managed migration of existing batch flows to Control-M and liased with BMC Support Staff.
Liased with in-house Sybase DBAs and (via the DB Artisan tool) rectified inconsistencies in the Control-M and ECS databases when required.
Provided detailed trouble-shooting for Control-M and ECS, sometimes in consultation with BMC's European Helpdesk (in Germany).
Responsible for testing new components of Control-M (e.g. the Smart Plug-In for HP-OpenView) and new releases (e.g. first version of ECS 600, which was rejected due to faults with the software).
