About this Site
I started this site in 2002. Hopefully you find some of the information interesting, particularly so if you are a Francome. Just to give you some technical information - I use Dreamweaver to construct and organise the pages (although a lot of hand-coded HTML and JavaScript goes in as well). I use PaintShop Pro for graphics and photographs, which I have always found to be very good, and the little animation at the start was produced via Flash MX. You can view the movie here.
The animation (more of a slide show really) is intended to represent a few of my interests. Firstly, the Beatles appear in their famous demonstration of the Green Cross Code as used in north London (music is a great love of mine, the CD collection needed to be moved to a bigger house recently, and I can claim a tentative link as I grew up in a town that is within shoplifting range of Liverpool). Secondly, one of the great cultural icons of the last 10 years, Bart Simpson, substitutes for Adam (I am a big Simpsons fan and was recently wrestled to the floor of the Sistine Chapel for trying to video the original painting that is caricatured here). Then there's skiing (I live in Switzerland now, that's what we do in winter). And the crest is none other than Luton Town Football Club (we all have our crosses to bear). Then I try to get trendy by including a scene from Pulp Fiction (I am cinephile, is that a real word?). Finally, a map of Britain, a racehorse and an antique computer all appear - all of which should be self-explanatory.
Oh, I nearly forgot to mention, the website does actually cost money to run. You may have noticed the odd link to Amazon. If you are planning any purchases then I would appreciate you clicking on the links provided (for example, the one at the bottom of this page).
Links Inside the Site
If you roll your mouse over the left-hand margin of the screen then you should, hopefully, get to see a pop-out menu with all the site links. If this does not happen you should firstly consider upgrading your browser and, in the meantime, use these links;
