Welcome to Computing Central! Here you will find information on several areas of computing that I have a professional interest in. These are all bits of documentation that I have created at various points in my career and I will be adding more articles as I manage to retrieve them from all the diskettes that I have lying around.

Firstly I should take this opportunity to plug my own skills in this area of computing (and why not?). I have over 12 years experience in this particular area and you can find my CV here (or here to download it in Word format) and contact me at the . I also have excellent experience of Internet based technologies and am a consultant for Control-M (BMC's job scheduler package).

The articles are (in no particular order, but the first two are recommended cures for insomnia) as follows;

• One of the first areas of computing that I became involved in was networking. Working at a traditional mainframe site, my colleagues and I were suddenly confronted with the installation of TCP/IP - so I wrote this article as a comprehensive beginner's guide to TCP/IP.



• Same problem as the above, only the other way round (and I was working for a different company). This time it was a group of TCP/IP network staff who wanted to know all about SNA - so I wrote this.



• As I said above, my current area of specialisation is Control-M (BMC's job scheduling package). Here you will find everything that you wanted to know about Control-M.
